Approaching Self-Directed Teaching
Your Self-Directed Teaching hours can be completed in combination of Self-Arranged sessions and Co-Instruction:
Self-Arranged Teaching: book a room/space at an Instructor Training or Work Placement Studio, recruit "clients" (friends, family, other Students): practise!
Co-Instruction: shadowing a qualified Instructor during a group class or Studio session at an Instructor Training or Work Placement Studio.
How you complete these Teaching hours, the ratio of Self-Arranged to Co-Instruction, comes down to how you learn best (learning style). Pilates ITC Courses have a foundation of kinaesthetic learning by the very nature of the Method and how we deliver our coursework.
So, for that reason, we recommend you prioritise Self-Arranged Teaching practice for the best possible learning outcomes.
Why? Because nothing can compare with or better prepare you for the real world than practicing on real people!
