About Co-Instruction

What is Co-Instruction (CI)?

In a nutshell, it is “job shadowing” an Instructor in a group class or Studio session: the idea of CI is to get you closer to the action than what’s possible in Observation (where you are a fly-on-the-wall).

It’s a great opportunity work on hands-on cueing/correction, develop your spatial and client awareness skills, and be more involved in the flow of the class or Studio session.

Co-Instruction must be booked with your Instructor Training or Work Placement Studio ahead of time, and according to their in-house processes.

Important note: it is recommended to complete some Self-Arranged teaching practise before attempting Co-Instruction. This gives you some time to feel confident in the Studio setting so you can get the most out of your CI sessions.

It is important to remember: the client experience comes first – always. You are a guest in this environment and should defer to the delivering Instructor.
