Student Tools Policy and Procedure

Purpose

The Student Tools Policy ensures you have access to the skills, tools, and resources needed to successfully complete your course. It outlines the minimum skill expectations, digital and communication requirements, and course-specific tools, while supporting compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2025, the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).


Definitions

  • AQF: The Australian Qualifications Framework, which defines the learning outcomes for each qualification level.

  • ACSF: The Australian Core Skills Framework, which outlines the core skills needed for learning, work, and life.

  • LMS: Learning Management System used to access course content and submit assessments

  • Manuals: Official Pilates ITC course materials provided in print

  • Digital Library: Online resource hub for additional reading and reference

  • Repertoire Library: Pilates-specific resources to support practical learning


Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to:

  • All Pilates ITC students enrolled in Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications

  • The Student Support Team, who assist you in accessing tools and meeting skill requirements

  • Educators, who guide you in applying tools and developing required competencies


Minimum skills required to meet course requirements

To succeed in your course, you’ll need to meet the following skill levels, based on the AQF and ACSF:

AQF Level 5 – Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction

You’re expected to:

  • Have technical and theoretical knowledge in a broad field

  • Use sound judgement and apply learned skills in familiar and new situations

  • Solve moderately complex problems and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues

AQF Level 6 – Advanced Diploma of the Method of Pilates

You’re expected to:

  • Apply broad, advanced theoretical and technical knowledge across varied contexts

  • Lead, guide, and evaluate others in your area of practice

  • Solve complex and unpredictable problems with autonomy and creativity

ACSF Core Skills (Recommended Levels: 4–5)

Learning

You can follow instructions, reflect on feedback, and apply new knowledge to different tasks.

Reading

You can understand detailed course materials, manuals, and assessment tasks.

Writing

You can write clearly in assessments, emails, and logbooks.

Oral Communication

You can speak with confidence to peers, educators, and placement supervisors.

Numeracy

You can calculate hours, interpret basic data, and apply simple problem-solving in a practical setting.

You don’t need to be perfect—but you should feel comfortable reading, writing, and communicating in a professional learning environment.


Tools and resources you will need to have to complete the course

Internet Access

You’ll need reliable high-speed internet for online learning, video content, and communication with your educators and placement studios.

Software Requirements

  • Microsoft Word – for creating and editing documents

  • PDF Capability – you must be able to save and convert files to PDF format for assessments

  • Scanning – important documents (like logbooks) must be submitted in PDF format

Hardware Requirements

To complete your coursework successfully, you’ll need access to a laptop or desktop computer.

  • Mobile phones, tablets, or handheld devices are not suitable due to the formatting and structure required for written assessments

  • A full-sized screen, keyboard, and reliable file-saving capabilities are essential

Tools and resources provided by Pilates ITC to complete the course

Learning Management System (LMS) & Student Portal

  • Regularly log in to access course materials, view feedback, and submit assessments

  • Use the Student Portal for timetable updates and important announcements

Pilates ITC Provided Resource Libraries

  • Digital Library – Available on the LMS - for additional reading materials

  • Repertoire Library – Available on the LMS - Pilates-specific resources for observation and practice

  • Complete Anatomy – interactive software to deepen your understanding of anatomy and physiology

Manuals

You’ll receive official Pilates ITC manuals by post or can collect them from Head Office. A tracking number is available upon request.

Uniform

  • Wear comfortable active wear that allows freedom of movement during practical sessions

  • Wear your Pilates ITC Student T-Shirt is provided as part of your enrolment (one per enrolment)

  • For in-person Contact Days, Teaching Clinics, and Practical Assessments, you are required to wear:

    • Enclosed shoes (e.g. sneakers or runners)

    • Socks

This ensures safety, hygiene, and professionalism in all studio-based learning environments.
