Common Acronyms used at Pilates ITC
Throughout your studies, you'll come across a number of acronyms and shortened terms used within Pilates ITC, the vocational education and training sector, and your course resources. This guide provides a quick reference for the most common terms. Some are specific to undergraduate study, while others relate specifically to postgraduate study or apply across all Pilates ITC courses. Pilates ITC + Training Sector Terms
Assessment Terms
Satisfactory / Not Yet Satisfactory is generally used for individual assessment tasks or components. Competent / Not Yet Competent relates to the overall competency outcome where applicable within nationally recognised training. Undergraduate TermsIf you're completing an undergraduate course or pathway, you may see the following terms throughout your LMS, timetable and Work Placement information.
Course Delivery Day (CDD)A scheduled training day within applicable undergraduate Blended courses where you participate in practical and theoretical course learning with an Educator. Teaching Clinic (TC)A scheduled practical learning and Work Placement activity where undergraduate Students develop their teaching skills with Educator support. Work Placement Studio (WPS)A Pilates business approved by Pilates ITC to support eligible undergraduate Work Placement activities. Postgraduate TermsIf you're completing the 11333NAT Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method or an associated postgraduate Advanced Pathway, you'll come across some additional terms.
Personalised Supervision Meeting (PSM)A scheduled 20-minute online meeting with your Lead Educator, included for postgraduate Students in the Blended study mode. PSMs are specifically designed for structured Work Placement supervision, reflection and progress. They are not used for general ad hoc course questions or additional Private Tuition. Course IntensiveA scheduled 2-hour, one-on-one postgraduate learning session included within applicable postgraduate courses and study modes. Course Intensives provide personalised learning relevant to your postgraduate studies and professional practice. Course Training PlanPostgraduate Students do not study within a traditional cohort structure. Your Course Training Plan sets out the scheduled learning and support services associated with your individual postgraduate intake. Lead EducatorThe Educator assigned to provide structured oversight of your postgraduate Work Placement and make the final judgement regarding completion of your Work Placement requirements. For Blended postgraduate Students, this oversight includes scheduled PSMs. Work Placement + Learning TermsThese terms may appear across undergraduate and postgraduate courses, although how they apply can differ according to your level of study.
