What to expect from your Supervisor
Revisit: About Work Placement Supervisors.
Your Work Placement Supervisor(s) aren't responsible for "educating" you - that's your Educators' job! (Remember, you can email any questions about Coursework or theory to your Educators via: askaneducator@pilatesitc.edu.au)
Nor are they obliged to mentor you through your Coursework - albeit a professional mentor/protege relationship may naturally develop over time.
Again, the Supervisors' role is to sign off on the time you spend on Work Placement.
But let's explore the beneficial byproducts of establishing and maintaining a working relationship with industry professionals:
Networking: Build connections that will serve you throughout your career.
Industry insight: Pilates is a collaborative industry by nature. Learning how to nurture professional relationships now is a robust skill that will make you infinitely more capable and employable when you graduate.
Professional conduct: learn how to conduct yourself professionally in the Studio environment while you study, not after you graduate.
Employment opportunities: It's not uncommon for our Students to be employed by Work Placement Studios, Instructor Training Studios and even our own Educators. Why? Because Pilates ITC-trained Instructors are known as the best in the bunch.
Find a mentor.
Make a lifelong friend.
Our community includes a lot of highly experienced, talented and generous Pilates Instructors and Educators. Their support is essential to ensuring you enjoy the best possible learning outcomes.
You can trust that you’re collaborating with the best and building professional relationships that will - hopefully - serve you throughout your career.
