Assessment Marking Policy

Edited

Purpose

At Pilates ITC, we’re committed to maintaining high standards in assessment and marking. This policy ensures all assessments are fair, consistent, and transparent, supporting you in achieving competency while meeting the requirements of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, the Standards for RTOs 2025, and ASQA guidelines.

Definitions

  • Competency-Based Assessment: A system that measures whether you can demonstrate the required skills and knowledge for your qualification.

  • Satisfactory (S): You’ve successfully demonstrated the required skills for a specific task or question.

  • Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS): You haven’t yet demonstrated the required skills and may need to try again.

  • Competent (C): You’ve met all requirements for a unit of competency.

  • Not Yet Competent (NYC): You haven’t yet met all requirements for a unit and may need further attempts.

  • International Students: Students joining from outside Australia whose qualifications are nationally recognised. We recommend that international students have English proficiency equivalent to tests like IELTS or TOEFL to ensure they can confidently engage with course materials and assessments.
